On the morning of Thursday, May 31, 2018, Johnson ControlsCasey Cossitt-Yager, Service Sales Representative, and his fellow team members and neighbors, were admiring the progress of Dig Safely New York, Inc.’s new state-of-the-art training facility and headquarters. With quick work and in only a matter of a few short months, the new location has already started to show character. Travelers of East Syracuse’s Brittonfield Parkway and commuters of Collamer Road are already being welcomed with a strong building foundation and a height defying steel frame. Still, only early in the building’s progress, the structure speaks as a cornerstone of New York State communities and a beacon of damage prevention. As Casey took-in the warm spring day and watched the dedicated members of Raulli & Sons, Inc. and Granger Construction Company, Inc. work on the structure with dedication, precision, and strength, building a physical representation of community support and safety, he couldn’t help but feel a familiar sense of pride.

Yet, something was missing. While watching Raulli & Sons, Inc.’s crane strategically place towering steel beams, Casey and team noticed the crane could “use a little extra touch.” At this time, Casey understood the familiar sense of dedication, precision, and strength shown through the teams of Raulli & Sons, Inc. and Granger Construction Company, Inc., mirrored that of our honorable American Veterans.

Johnson Controls and the Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. have a long-standing partnership. With that in mind, the evening of Thursday, May 31, Casey presented Granger Construction Company, Inc.’s, Rich Hamilton, an American flag to display at the top of the worksite crane. The American flag was eagerly  accepted. As Casey pulled into the Johnson Controls office the morning of Friday, June 1, he was pleased to see that the American flag was already proudly displayed.
